Our Team
It took a world of talent to bring Gothest to life, so our international team is based in 4 continents & hail from more countries than can easily be listed here in this header.
Their diverse backgrounds & skills made for a truly unique final game, with each person’s contribution symbiotically merging with all of the others to enhance your experience in The Land of Shade.
Necrolicious – Creator/Director/Producer (& everything else not listed below)
Necrolicious is not your typical gamer, but rather an outright game-addict. In addition to video gaming, his experience comes from board games, word games, card games, live action role-playing games, arcade games, carnival midway games, casino games & more, so it’s safe to say that Gothest drew inspiration from an entire library of games & gaming mechanics. His lifelong passion for gaming of all sorts extends past just the page, board, table & screen, however. The production of Gothest comes after he hosted numerous dark-music events throughout Los Angeles. Far from your average Hollywood club fare, these events were often based on memes & video games including Shin Megami Tensei, Silent Hill &, most notably, Vampire: The Masquerade. He also became something of a meme lord along the way & now has over 36,000 followers on Facebook.
With this background, it would be impossible to argue that Gothest wasn’t meant to be.
Check out his meme stash on Necrolicious.com (or Necrolicious.crypto if you are familiar with web3).
zero – Art
This Italy-based digital artist with a penchant for the dark & gothic drew a series of fan art for the clans of Vampire: The Masquerade, which caught Necrolicious’ attention when he was promoting his VTM events in Los Angeles, so when the time came to bring Gothest to life, he knew just who to contact, & the rest, as they say, is history. In addition to making cute/kawaii gothic art, she enjoys spending time playing with cats as well as watching anime & reading manga.

Marie Vaunt – Music
Japanese-American techno star Marie Vaunt burst onto the scene in March 2018 with her debut single “Witchcraft”, which skyrocketed through the Beatport Techno Top 100 chart reaching #22 within days of its release. More recently, her single “Hex” — released on Fe Chrome — reached the #15 spot, further cementing Marie’s position as a regular on the Beatport Techno charts. She has since established herself as a household name in the genre, co-headlining shows in Los Angeles with artists such Pig&Dan and Alberto Ruiz, as well as headlining the legendary Techno Tuesday Amsterdam event at the Melkweg in March 2020, on the first of her multiple European tours.
She frequently tours Europe, the U.S. & Asia so check out MarieVaunt.com to see if she’s playing in your town soon & don’t forget that you can stream all of her original tracks for free on Spotify!
Himechin – Voice Actress
Chinese-Australian Youtube & Twitch star Himechin makes her voice acting debut by providing the voice of Batilda in Gothest.
A true renaissance woman if there ever was one, Himechin is hard to easily categorise.
She sings, she dances, she games, she draws, she cooks & much more, so suffice it to say she’s an absolute pogchamp & we are extremely proud to showcase just some of her talents in our game.
Her videos on Youtube have amassed nearly 12 million views worldwide & she’s recently set her sights on conquering Spotify next.
If you want to hear her sing your favourite anime songs in real time (she knows over 500 of them!), join her over 28,000 followers on Twitch eagerly awaiting her return from her current hiatus.
You can also find & follow her on all your favourite social media by checking out her links on Himechin.com.
Bill White – Programming
Canada-based Bill White is a software developer with over a decade of professional experience working with a variety of technologies. He holds a bachelor of Computer Science degree from the University of Waterloo. He is currently creating mobile & PC games using primarily C# & Unity. In addition to programming Gothest, he has 3 published Unity games for mobile & desktop.
Check out his latest release, Guns and Grapples, on Steam.
Carolina Eyck – Theremin
German-Sorbian musician and composer Carolina Eyck’s was introduced to the theremin by her parents at the age of 7. She took her first theremin lessons with Lydia Kavina. Over the years, Carolina has collaborated with various musicians, conductors, ensembles and symphony orchestras, such as Fazil Say, Heinz Holliger, Michael Sanderling, Gürer Aykal and Brad Lubman, the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Bern Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, Argentine National Symphony Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra (Washington, D.C.) and Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg. Carolina has performed in concert halls around the world, including the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C., MONA (Museum of New and Old Art) Tasmania, Konzerthaus Berlin, Bozar Brussels, Rudolfinum in Prague, Großes Festspielhaus Salzburg, Centro Cultural Kirchner (CCK) Buenos Aires, Teatro National de Guatemala and Centro Gabriela Mistral Santiago, Chile.
Given her impressive credentials, we are extremely honoured to have her grace our game with her theremin. She performed the excerpt of Chopin’s Marche Funabre used for Gothest’s spirit board animations.
You can check out her latest album, Thetis 2086, & sign up for her theremin classes at CarolinaEyck.com.
Soul Bandit – Victory Theme
You might not know the name, but you’ve almost certainly heard her music if you’re into horror films. She’s composed & performed music for the international trailers for the recent remakes of Halloween, Pet Semetary, Ghostbusters & more!
Soul Bandit produced & performed the gothic little ditty that you hear when you win the game.
Keep up to date with her on SoulBandit.net.
Emily Yi/Exuin – Digital prototype
Chinese-American game programmer Exuin helped build the prototype/demo of Gothest that stood as a reference point throughout the rest of development.
You can play her other games at emily2.itch.io.
Katie Khau – Playing Mats
To help us get the design of our playing mats just right, we enlisted the help of this award-winning Vietnamese-American professional designer whose previous work can be seen on board games Dead Man’s Cabal, My Little Scythe & Dreams of Tomorrow, among others.
See her other work at KatieKhau.com.
Additional Contributions
Game development is multi-faceted, so apart from the core team directly involved in creating the game, we extended our efforts with help from the following talents.
Dani Filth (Cradle of Filth) – Advertisement
Dani has been Gothest creator, Necrolicious’ hero for going on 20 years, so what better celebrity to endorse Gothest than this infamous heavy metal legend? NO ONE, that’s who!
In case you were blissfully unaware, Mr Filth is the front man of British band Cradle of Filth, who reached nearly 102 million views just on Youtube alone (youtube.com/@cradleoffilth/about). Dani & his band often embark on sold out global tours & he was also hired to market another similarly dark-themed mobile game app, Diablo Immortal.
Knowing we scored Dani’s endorsement (ahead of Diablo, to boot!), gives us a load of confidence in our game’s long-term success!
Dani Divine – Advertisement
The female half of the British Dani front, Ms. Divine is an alternative model & macro-influencer, with nearly 1 million followers on her Instagram.
Widely regarded as the world’s foremost goth model, she is highly sought after in this industry & she travels the world promoting goth brands & events. We proudly welcomed her to our marketing efforts.
Nikiski Noir – Advertisement
Nikiski Noir is a model & event producer who partnered with Gothest to promote demonstrations of
our early game builds at her goth & anime themed Nachturnal events in Los Angeles.
A frequent collaborator of goth/alternative fashion labels Dollskill & Killstar, who collectively have over 5 million followers, Ms. Noir has been catapulted into the spotlight as one of the most recognisable goth models today.
She currently has over 110,000 followers on her main social media profile, Instagram.
悪魔カフェ『でびるーぷ』- Advertisement
Hikari Shiina, also known as Pikarin, is the creative mind behind the interior, costumes, & overall theme of this unique Akihabara cafe that was inspired by adorable devils & brought to life by mischievous spirits.
でびるーぷ (Deviloop in English) has graciously been helping Gothest’s marketing since around Halloween of 2022, & in doing so allowed for further collaboration with Ryou Yamabuki and MRKM (who have joined Pikarin to form a new all-female J-rock group Killt Melt Land).
If you ever visit Tokyo, be sure you stop by!
Menus do have some English, but a translation app such as Google Translate may help you get the most out of your experience if you don’t know Japanese.
